Benjamin Franklin Invented...

The Patent Process

Added Friday, July 24, 2009
In order to establish some systematization to the process of invention, Benjamin Franklin came up with the basic concept of patenting. He then proceeded to set up the first patent shop in the United States, and put his invention through the application process. However, due to some flaws in his design, he rejected the application. After making the necessary changes, he re-applied for a patent. The patent was approved and thus the patent was born.
